Describe the functions of the hormones that the adrenal glands secrete

Adrenal gland produces various hormones that play a role in regulating our blood pressure , metabolism , immune system and stress responses. Adrenal hormones are made in the adrenal cortex and adrenal medula .
Adrenal cortex hormones :
Aldosterone : With the help of Aldosterone the kidney is able to regulate the amount of blood and salt in the blood , thus effecting the blood pressure
Cortisol : A stress hormone which helps the body to manage stress by changing the body metabolism . It also manages the body's use of protein , fats and carbohydrates . It also has a role in suppressing the immune system .
Androgen : is a male sex hormone but is produced in both female and male by the adrenal gland , varying in amounts . Androgen production is essential in the growth , maintainance , development and function of the reproductive organs . Androgen is responsible for the secondary sexual characteristics in men like deep voice , facial and body hair and body shape . Androgen is essential in the production of estrogen
Estrogen : is a female sex hormone tasked with the maintainance , development and growth of female reproductive organs . Also they are responsible for the development of secondary female characters like breasts and public hair .
