Describe the diseases of plants?

Plant disease is any pathological condition that affects the appearance or functions of the plant.
- The physical changes observed are changes in colour, texture, smell etc while functional changes are fruiting, flowering, growth of the plant etc
- The occurence of plant diseases depend on 3 factors:
1. A viable pathogen
2. Favourable environment
3. A suscetible host
Diseases of the plant are:
1. Infectious:
-Fungi:Rhizoctonia.
- Bacteria: Bacterial spot disease
-Virus: Tobacco mosaic virus
- Nematodes: Ectoparasites or endoparasites. Example: Root know nematodes
-Parasites: Dodder, red rattle
- Mycoplasmas
2. Non infectious: Nutritional deficiency like Zn, harsh environmental conditions

- Rots
-Leaf spot
-Rust
-blight
-wilt
