Question
Describe about the Isotropic Soils and Uniform Slopes of Infinite Extent?
Expert Solution
Step 1
Isotropic refers to the phyisical properties in every direction should be same. The properties of the isotropic matter is depend upon the direction. Isotropic materials have same values for thermal and mechanical properties in all direction. In soil, if it consist of perfect spherial grains, flow rate would be isotropic but it is difficult for the soil. Soil consist different shape and size of grain so flow rate would be different so it is an "anisotropic" which is opposite of "Isotropic".
