Sulci: It is a furrow or trench which provides an elevation to the surrounding walls. Example: Paracentral sulcus.

Gyrus: It is a depression or crease between two splits on the surface. Example: Broca's gyrus.

Fissure: It is an open incision usually in bones so as to house nerves and blood vessels. Example: Trochlear fossa, anterior cranial fossa.
