The planning that is made by assuming an unlikely outcome caused by an exceptional risk is called Contingency planning.
The typical teams involved in contingency planning:
- Contingency planning (CP) team
- Incident response (IR) team
- Disaster recovery (DR) team
- Business continuity (BC) team
The Contingency planning team are collects the data about information systems and threats, conducts business impact analysis, creates contingency plans for incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity
The incident response team are manages Incident response plan by detecting, evaluating, responding to incidents and executes Incident response plan.
The disaster recovery team manages and executes the DR (disaster recovery) plan by the recognition, and assessment. Thereafter the response is given to the disasters, and the re-establishment of procedure takes place at the main business sites.
The business continuity team directs and then implements the BC (business continuity) plan by arranging and then starting off site procedure in the case of any disaster or event.
