Solution is the homogeneous mixture of two or more substances.
Example:
Mixture of sugar and water.
Solutions are of mainly two types:
- Ideal solution.
- Non-ideal solution.
Step 2
Ideal solution: Solution which obey Raoult's law at every concentration and temperature.
If the intermolecular forces of attraction of pure solute and solvent is similar as mixture then it is said to be ideal solution.
Let A-A and B-B are solute and solvent respectively while A-B is the mixture.
If the intermolecular forces of attraction of A-A ,B-B is similar to A-B molecular interaction then it is said to be ideal solution.
Example: Mixture of benzene and toluene.
