The implementation of the SASS is made of several components informed by the separation of logic, i.e. web tier to render the web pages, business logic module to process applications and a database. The web tier allows users to fill in application forms and submit them online through a web browser. When the forms are submitted they are handled by the web tier using an Apache Webserver that runs on HP Unix server. The webserver communicates with the application server that implements the business logic of processing the application forms. All applications detail such as student personal info, addresses, matric results, etc. are stored in an Oracle 11g database which will be deployed on a Compaq machine running Unix operating system. The business logic module running on IBM JMix Application Server exposes an AccessModuleAPI interface to provide a service to client modules such as the web tier. The database is only visible to the business logic module which uses jdbc technology to query it
