Blood pressure
"Blood pressure is a measure of the force of blood against the walls of blood vessels, usually measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). It is comprised of two numbers: systolic pressure (the higher number) measures the pressure in the vessels when the heart beats, and diastolic pressure (the lower number) measures the pressure in the vessels when the heart is resting between beats. A normal blood pressure reading is around 120/80 mmHg but can vary based on age, physical activity, and other factors. High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common health problem that increases the risk of heart disease and stroke, while low blood pressure (hypotension) can cause dizziness and fainting".
Blood pressure is measured with the help of a Sphygmomanometer.
A sphygmomanometer is a device used for measuring blood pressure. It typically consists of an inflatable cuff to collapse and then releases the artery under the cuff in a controlled manner, and a mercury or aneroid manometer to measure the pressure. It is commonly referred to as a blood pressure monitor or a blood pressure cuff.
