Your use of overloading does not make sense.

You have mentioned that you will be using System.Console.

If you use that, you can either accept input from user as int, using the Console.Read() method. Or you can accept input as string, using the Console.ReadLine() method. So only one of your overloaded methods will run no matter what the user input is, so why use overloading ?

Based on the requirement of your program, you only need one AcceptBid method, the string one. And inside that method you have to use regular expressions to check if input is in desired format.
