Saas (Software as a Service):
This model provides vendor's cloud based software for user or customer. No need to download and install SaaS software on local devices on the customer's side, they only install plugins in some cases. SaaS applications stored on a cloud server on the remote network and it is accessed through the web and API. By using this types of application, users can work together on the same projects and also can store and analyze the data. Here user or clients are not bothering about hardware requirement for running this application, because everything managed by the SaaS provider. Users just use use the programs and complete their work.
Characteristics of SaaS:

- Requirement defines the resource scalability
- Through any connected device, can access the software
Some examples of SaaS providers are Google Apps, Dropbox, Gmail, Office 365 etc
