The formation of bone is called as ossification. Various cells are present in the bone matrix like osteocytes, osteoblasts, osteoclasts. The osteoblasts are the precursor cells they divide forming osteocytes (the main bone cells) and matrix of the bone. The osteoclasts are bone eating cells, they resorb the bone by degrading the bone matrix. The osteoclasts and osteoblasts both lead to remodeling of bone during ossification.
