Expert Solution
Step 1

“Since you have asked multiple questions, we will solve the first question for you. If you want any specific question to be solved, then please specify the question number or post only that question.”

The given chemical equation is:

Ca(OH)2(aq) + 2CO2(g)  Ca(HCO3)2(aq)

 From the given equation,

2 moles of CO2 react with 1 mole Ca(OH)2.

Step 2

(a) 6 moles of CO2 will react with-

Moles of Ca(OH)2 = 1 mol Ca(OH)22 mol CO2×6 mol CO2= 3 mol Ca(OH)2

5 moles of Ca(OH)2 are given, CO2 is the limiting reactant.

(b) Calculating moles of Ca(OH)2:

Moles of Ca(OH)2 = 5.24g74.09g/mol= 0.0707 mol

Calculating moles of CO2:

Moles of CO2 = 5.96g44.01g/mol= 0.135 mol

0.135 moles of CO2 will react with-

Moles of Ca(OH)2 = 1 mol Ca(OH)22 mol CO2×0.135 mol CO2= 0.0675 mol Ca(OH)2

As the calculated moles of Ca(OH)2 is 0.0707 moles. CO2 is the limiting reagent here.
