Let the original or initial volume i.e the volume of 0.500 M solution be V1 and the final volume(after dilution) i.e the volume of 0.150 M solution be V2.So,according to the molarity equation,it may be written as :                     0.500×V1 = 0.150×V2                                  V2  =0.500×V10.150                                         = 3.33 V1
