Case study: Kim Pharmaceuticals Limited (KPL) problematic Enterprise Data Warehouse
Kim Pharmaceuticals Limited (KPL) was established in 2010. KPL has several offices in Korea, Macao and Thailand. KPL had identified the importance of establishing Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) in its initial days and established EDW in 2012.The objectives of establishing EDW were significantly shortening of research cycle that leads to a new drug development, breakthrough marketing policies for new and current drugs, identification of potential customers and practitioners, provision of better customer satisfaction policy, process optimization of several practices and strategic planning. KPL progressed by establishing and implementing all functional business processes and ERP. EDW also grew by storing large amount of data. However, during these years KPL couldn’t focus on the upgrade of EDW and higher management stated to experience more processing time for analytical reports generations, inaccurate analysis, less flexibility and difficulty in handling of analytical dashboard. Furthermore, ERP and EDW have not been integrated.
