Calculate the age standardized IHD mortality rate using the Standard population. Show all calculations. (See attached image)
Shouldn't the answer be like this? :
Age-specific rate, 0 to 19 years= 11 (number of deaths) ÷ 9043000 (total population) × 40,000= 0.0487 IHD deaths
Age-specific rate, 20 to 39 years = 606 (number of deaths) ÷ 12543000 (total population) × 28, 000= 1.35 IHD deaths
Age-specific rate, 40 to 59 years= 10,071 (number of deaths) ÷ 11060000 (total population) × 21,000= 19.1 IHD deaths
Age-specific rate, 60 to 79 years = 44947 (number of deaths) ÷ 6568000 (total population) × 10,000 = 68.4 IHD deaths
Age-specific rate, 80+ years = 28940 (number of deaths) ÷ 779000 (total population) × 1000 = 37.2 IHD deaths
MULTIPLYING EACH BY THE STANDARD POPULATION FOR EACH AGE GROUP, NOT MULTIPLYING BY 100,000?? And do we add all the numbers up to get 126 deaths per 100,000 people or do we leave the numbers for each age group as is?
Thank you.
