Briefly describe the human infections caused by Pseudomonas.
When an organism from outside enters the body and invades the body tissues causing diseases, the process is known as infection. It is caused by infectious agents like viruses, bacteria, and fungus. Any organism that is capable of infection other organisms and causing the disease is known as a pathogen.
Pseudomonas is a gram-negative bacteria with almost 191 species. It is present in the soil, plants, and water. It is pathogenic and mostly causes infection to humans. The health of the person plays a major role in infection by Pseudomonas. For the person who is sick or has a weakened immune system, pseudomonas infection is severe and generally mild in healthy persons. Some common species are Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas maltophilia
