INTRODUCTION:
Many people are aware that we are located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, but not everyone understands about
the process of volcanism. We are impressed with the scenic beauty of the volcano but we are not so aware of what
have caused the formation of volcanic cone and the fiery emission of volcanic materials. We know that a volcano is a
natural opening in the earth's crust that allows the molten rocks, volcanic ash, hot gases and smoke are ejected from
the magma chamber beneath the Earth's surface. When a volcano erupts, it can result in the destruction of an entire
town and can bring damage to life and properties.
The vulnerability of the country has enabled different local agencies like NDRRMC and PHIVOLCS to ensure the
safety of the Filipinos from the threats brought by natural calamities like volcanic eruptions.
As a High School Student having knowledge on volcanic eruptions, your task is to suggest ways on how can you
help your community and contribute to government efforts in reducing damage due to volcanic eruptions;
