Toxic Dose
> 200 mg/ kg weight
Estimated Toxic Dose for Mary
The first symptoms occur a few hours after a toxic dose. These include:
nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, lack of appetite, and tiredness.
Abdominal pain set in after 24-48 hours as liver damage occurs. In
severe cases, after 3-5 days patients will experience yellowing of the
skin, difficulty with blood sugar regulation, bleeding abnormalities, and
liver swelling days. In severe cases, 1-2% of patients will die of liver
failure in 4 to 18 days.
> 300 mg/kg
Symptoms will occur within the first few hours after toxic dose.
Symptoms could include irregular breathing, blurred vision, ringing in
ears, seizures, diarrhea, rash, heartburn, and general confusion.
>400 mg/kg
Symptoms of an overdose generally occur within 4 hours of a toxic
dose. Symptoms could include: heart burn and stomach pain, seizures
and a lack of consciousness, changes in blood pressure and heart
rate, and kidney failure.
> 400 mg/kg weight
Symptoms of an overdose generally occur within several hours of a
toxic dose. Symptoms could include: heartburn, vomiting, seizures,
lethargy, and a prolonged time for blood to clot.
