Contingency Table
A contingency table can be defined as the visual representation of the relationship between two or more categorical variables that can be evaluated and registered. It is a categorical version of the scatterplot, which is used to investigate the linear relationship between two variables. A contingency table is indeed a type of frequency distribution table that displays two variables at the same time.
Binomial Distribution
Binomial is an algebraic expression of the sum or the difference of two terms. Before knowing about binomial distribution, we must know about the binomial theorem.

Transcribed Image Text:Migraine and Acupuncture: A migraine is a particularly painful type of headache, which patients
sometimes wish to treat with acupuncture. To determine whether acupuncture relieves migraine
pain, researchers conducted a randomized controlled study where 154 patients diagnosed with
migraine headaches were randomly assigned to one of two groups: treatment or control. 68
patients in the treatment group received acupuncture that is specifically designed to treat
migraines. 86 patients in the control group received placebo acupuncture (needle insertion at non-
acupoint locations). 24 hours after patients received acupuncture, they were asked if they were pain
free. Results are summarized in the contingency table below. Test to see if migraine pain relief is
dependent on receiving acupuncture. Use a = 0.1.
