Expert Solution
Step 1

Given data:

Mass of NaN3 = 28.3 gms                    Molar mass = 65 gm/mol

Pressure = 1 atm

Temperature = 22°C = 295

The reaction for the process is :

2NaN3(s)    2Na(s)  +  3N2(g)

Number of moles=Given massMolar mass=28.365=0.435 moles

According to the reaction, 2 moles of NaN3 yields 3 moles of N2.

So 0.435 moles of NaN3 will yield 32×0.435=0.65 moles
