What are the two primary types of software? How are they different?
There are two major types of software that are used, and they are:
- System Software
- Application Software
System Software
A system software allows the user to interact with the hardware and hardware to interact with the user. It is a software that is used to manage the computer hardware's behavior in order to provide fundamental functionalities which are desirable by the user. A system software acts as a mediator between the user and the hardware and make an environment or platform for the working of other software. The system software is made to run in the background and not accessible by the end-users. For this reason, a system software is known as 'low-level' software. When a system is first turned on a system software is initialized first and gets loaded in system memory.
