answer  item 3 only

Diameter 100.5mm

thickness 10.25 mm

axial stree 451 mpa

A truss was made of circular hollow steel with an outside diameter of 100 mm (plus half of the last
digit of your ID No., mm) and 10 mm thick (plus quarter of the last digit of your ID No., mm). It was
subjected into different loads, as shown in the figure below. Using axial stress of 450 MPa (plus last
digit of your ID No., MPa) for member a, determine the following:
1) Load P (kN).
2) Axial load (kN) held at member a and state whether compression or tension.
3) Axial deformation (mm) at member b considering its maximum endured load.
4) Maximum shearing stress (MPa) due to the endured axial load exerted in member c,
considering that it could produced moment due to applied torque with an eccentricity of 150
mm from the centroid of member b.
5) Shear modulus (GPa) of member b if the torque applied produced a maximum angle
deformation of 5°.
