The simplest case of a circular motion is a uniform circular motion, in which object travelles with a constant speed around a circular path. Since the direction of velocity changing in each time, the linear velocity is not a constant for circular motion. The acceleration of a particle is the rate of change of velocity with respect to time. Since velocity is changing with respect to time in uniform circular motion, the particle is accelerating through out the motion. The force that cause circular motion is called cetripetal force and it is always acting towards the centre.

The centripetal acceleration is the ratio change in linear velocity and the time taken.

ac=vt=v2r...(1)

Where,

v=Velocityr=Radius

The direction of acceleration is in the direction of change in velocity. The direction of change in velocity is towards the center, therefore the direction of centripetal acceleration is also towards the centre of the circle. The word centripetal means center seeking.

The relation connecting velocity and angular frequency ω is given by,

Angular frequency can be written as,

ω=2πT...(3)

Where T is time period.
