The frictional unemployment occurs when the spend time voluntarily in search of the new jobs which suits best his skills or taste. It can occur even if there are enough jobs in the market and wage rate is equal to equilibrium wage because of the reason such as dissatisfaction from an old job, moving to new area or state, and better job. Structural unemployment occurs when the jobs are fewer in the market than the workers. It occurs when wages rates become higher than the equilibrium wage rate.
The increase in the minimum wage rises the wages above the equilibrium wage rate due to which the demand for worker reduces at new high wages and supply of worker increases which create structural unemployment as the more worker want to work than the available job.
