An automotive repair shop is to be started in Chicago, IL. The building will be 110 ft long x 60 ft wide x 10 ft high. Walls are 12-in. concrete block (3 oval core, sand and gravel aggregate) followed by 1-in. cellular glass slab insulation and a row of 4-in. lightweight aggregate and a density of 30 lb/ft³ covered by with 3 g in. built-up roofing. Floor is 6-in. concrete slab on grade with 1-in. edge insulation. On the front side, there is one 4 ft x 6 ft single-pane window with storm window and a 30-ft wide x 8-ft high steel-in. thick) grade door.On the back side there is a single 3 ft x 7 ft solid wood (2 in. thick) door.Determine the size heating system required.
Fluid Pressure
The term fluid pressure is coined as, the measurement of the force per unit area of a given surface of a closed container. It is a branch of physics that helps to study the properties of fluid under various conditions of force.
Gauge Pressure
Pressure is the physical force acting per unit area on a body; the applied force is perpendicular to the surface of the object per unit area. The air around us at sea level exerts a pressure (atmospheric pressure) of about 14.7 psi but this doesn’t seem to bother anyone as the bodily fluids are constantly pushing outwards with the same force but if one swims down into the ocean a few feet below the surface one can notice the difference, there is increased pressure on the eardrum, this is due to an increase in hydrostatic pressure.
