Part 2. Now, consider the effect of the wind during the sail of the galleon. First, draw
your galleon vector, just like in Part 1, using red ballpen. At the end of that vector,
add the wind vector using blue ballpen. Then draw the resultant vector of the two
with a blue ballpen. That is where the galleon is when the first month ends. Now
do the same procedure for the next month and the preceeding months until you
reach land. Take note that the wind changes, so each month you will have to add
a different wind vector. The list of different winds for each month is as follows:
Month 1: 2 squares south
Month 2: 4 diagonals southeast

Part 3. The current of the Atlantic Ocean also affects the sail of the galleon. Each
month, you must add a current correction vector to find the actual position of the
galleon. Just like in Part 2, for every month, draw the galleon vector (in red), and
wind vector (in blue) and now add the ocean vector (in black). Now using black
ballpen, draw the resultant vector of the three. Do this for each month until the
galleon reach land. Be reminded that the wind and ocean vectors will be different
for each month as listed below.
Wind Vectors:
Month 1: 2 squares south
Month 2: 4 diagonal squares southeast
Month 3: 2 squares west
Month 4: No wind
Ocean Vectors:
Month 1: 2 suares south
Month 2: 4 squares west
Month 3: 3 diagonal squares southwest
How long will the galleon reach land?
Where will the galleon hit land?
What is now the total displacement of the galleon?
