a. What is the shape of the sampling distribution of š. - xp? Why? b. Find the mean and standard deviation of the sampling distribution of F. - Ip. c. Calculate the probability that the average monthly cost of living expense of the 16 randomly selected California residents is less than the average monthly cost of living expense of the 9 randomly selected Florida residents.
Inverse Normal Distribution
The method used for finding the corresponding z-critical value in a normal distribution using the known probability is said to be an inverse normal distribution. The inverse normal distribution is a continuous probability distribution with a family of two parameters.
Mean, Median, Mode
It is a descriptive summary of a data set. It can be defined by using some of the measures. The central tendencies do not provide information regarding individual data from the dataset. However, they give a summary of the data set. The central tendency or measure of central tendency is a central or typical value for a probability distribution.
Z-Scores
A z-score is a unit of measurement used in statistics to describe the position of a raw score in terms of its distance from the mean, measured with reference to standard deviation from the mean. Z-scores are useful in statistics because they allow comparison between two scores that belong to different normal distributions.
This is not a graded assignment, it is a self-assigned worksheet I am using to study for an upcoming test.
![Is it more expensive to live in California or Florida? Monthly cost of living expenses for California are
approximately Normal with mean 4.= $10,800 and standard deviation o, = $3,200. Monthly cost of
living expenses for Florida are approximately Normal with mean 4, = $8,500 and standard
deviation o, = $2,700. Suppose we select independent SRSS of 16 residents of California and 9
residents of Florida and calculate the sample mean monthly cost of living, and p.
