A. Consider all samples of size 5 from this population:2, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13 1. Compute the mean and the standard deviation of the population.
Permutations and Combinations
If there are 5 dishes, they can be relished in any order at a time. In permutation, it should be in a particular order. In combination, the order does not matter. Take 3 letters a, b, and c. The possible ways of pairing any two letters are ab, bc, ac, ba, cb and ca. It is in a particular order. So, this can be called the permutation of a, b, and c. But if the order does not matter then ab is the same as ba. Similarly, bc is the same as cb and ac is the same as ca. Here the list has ab, bc, and ac alone. This can be called the combination of a, b, and c.
Counting Theory
The fundamental counting principle is a rule that is used to count the total number of possible outcomes in a given situation.

1. Compute the mean and the standard deviation of the population.
2. List all samples of size 5 and compute the mean for each sample.

3. Construct the sampling distribution of the sample means.

4. Calculate the mean of the sampling distribution of the sample means. Compare this to the
mean of the population.
5. Calculate the standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the sample means. Compare
this to the standard deviation of the population.](/v2/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcontent.bartleby.com%2Fqna-images%2Fquestion%2Ff7f69498-114d-4a42-82f3-03eb6adf7261%2Fc4decab4-59ad-4b06-af22-de69498fadce%2F1zmmu7r_processed.jpeg&w=3840&q=75)
