Mary, Benjamin and Keziah have all been laid off from work due to the banking
crisis that hit Ghana. In addition to her banking job, Mary owed a lucrative
electrical shop. She has since her sack been doing brisk business in her shop.
For six months now, she has not even gone to question her former employers
about why they have not paid the money they promised them. Mary is young,
unmarried and has no kids.
Benjamin is a married man with three kids. He is facing a serious financial crisis
at home and his family is barely surviving. His former office is almost his
second home as he troops there everyday to fight for his money. After a long
wait with no positive feedback, he has used his little savings to hire a lawyer to
sue his former employers to get his money.
Keziah was so close to the owner of the business during her working days. She
has rather been defending the management and explained to her colleagues to be
patient as the fault is not coming from the bank but government. Even though
affected by the staff lay off, she still seems to be defending the company and her
colleagues, especially Benjamin are extremely upset with her.
