A Male patient Y who is 40 years old and weighs 60 kg is admitted in the ICU with history of being involved in a motor vehicle accident, he sustained the following injuries; • Spinal injury • Head injury • Multiple fractures • Rib fractures The patient is intubated, mechanically ventilated and connected to the multiparameter monitor, chest drains are in situ and draining, intracranial pressure is monitored.
