The term body language has been replaced with the more formal term known as kinesics. This is a form of nonverbal communication used by person to transmit an information or a message. The perceiver on the basis of these nonverbal cues detects the conveyed message. People more commonly uses nodding, blinking, frowning, and other expressions as nonverbal cues to communicate with others, in situations where verbal cues are not as effective or possible.
