A child has a spherical helium balloon tied to her wrist as she walks through the park at a constant speed of 0.38 m/s in the +ŷ-direction. The balloon has a diameter of 11 cm, and it is tied to a 1.31 m long string. Take the density of air to be 1.102 kg/m³, the density of helium to be 0.128 kg/m³, and the density of the latex of the balloon to be 0.017 kg/m². The viscous drag constant of the balloon is 0.00188 kg/s. What is the direction of the string from the girl's wrist to the balloon? û = -0.99533965119€ +71821 1x 2
Fluid Pressure
The term fluid pressure is coined as, the measurement of the force per unit area of a given surface of a closed container. It is a branch of physics that helps to study the properties of fluid under various conditions of force.
Gauge Pressure
Pressure is the physical force acting per unit area on a body; the applied force is perpendicular to the surface of the object per unit area. The air around us at sea level exerts a pressure (atmospheric pressure) of about 14.7 psi but this doesn’t seem to bother anyone as the bodily fluids are constantly pushing outwards with the same force but if one swims down into the ocean a few feet below the surface one can notice the difference, there is increased pressure on the eardrum, this is due to an increase in hydrostatic pressure.
