Set-up: Fiber-optic cables connect stations to transmit data faster than can be
done over wireless transmissions. These cables require regular inspection,
however. To do this inspection, a signal-message begins at the headquarters at H,
and then the received message is relayed to another station. As the signal passes
through cables the signal gets distorted like a game of Telephone, and when the
message passes through all cables it returns to H for analysis.
A map of the fiber-optic cables is given below. Note that the connections between
B and C, C and H, and H and F have two cables and each cable must be checked
on its own. Furthermore, the direction that the signal travels (e..g, from A to B or
from B to A) does not matter, as long as the message travels through the cable in
some direction.
