Starfish:
Echinoderms with a star form that belong to the class Asteroidea are known as starfish or sea stars. These terms are frequently used incorrectly to refer to ophiuroids, which are properly called brittle stars or basket stars in common usage. Due to their membership in the class Asteroidea, starfish are also referred to as asteroids. The seafloor of every ocean in the world, from chilly arctic regions to warm tropical zones, is home to almost 1,900 different species of starfish. They can be found from the intertidal zone to abyssal depths, at a depth of 6,000 m (20,000 ft).
