In a brewery, hand karts are used for moving beer kegs. A fully loaded kart can transport 2 beer kegs arranged as illustrated in Figure Q6. Each beer keg weighs 40 kg. The centres of gravity of the kegs are G1 and G2 as shown. The designer of the cart recommends that, in operation, the angle of inclination of the kart (α), should range from 250 to 400. And to maintain static equilibrium of the beer keg for an angle of inclination, a force, P, must be applied on the handle of the cart at A, as shown. Determine the corresponding magnitudes of P for α = 250, 300, 350, and 400. Plot a graph of forces to apply (P) on the vertical-axis, against angle of inclination of the kart (α) on the horizontal-axis. As the production floor manager of the brewery, use your graph to explain to the HR manager why relatively taller personnel should be employed as hand cart operators
