1. Preparation of buffered and unbuffered systems. Transfer 10 drops of 0.10 M
CH,COOH to wells Al and A2 of a 24-well plate, (or appropriately labeled 75-mm
test tubes), add 3 drops of universal indicator, and note the color. Compare the
color of the solution with the pH color chart for the universal indicator.☺ Now add
10 drops of 0.10 M NACH,CO, to each well.
Place 20 drops of deionized water into wells B1 and B2 and add 3 drops of uni-
versal indicator.☺
