Expert Solution
Step 1

People usually have X and Y as sex chromosome. Women have two X chromosome while boys have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. But in some rare cases individuals have one X and one Y chromosome but they show female phenotype.

The SRY gene is located on Y chromosome, provides instructions for making the sex determining region Y protein. The sex determining region Y protein are involved in male typical sex determination.  These process cause a fetus to develop male gonads and prevent the development of female reproductive structure - uterus and fallopian tube.
