If the concrete slab is designed to support a live load of 100 psf, determine the lightest steel sections required to support the slab by the LRFD and ASD procedures. It is assumed that the compression flange of the beam will be fully supported laterally by the concrete slab.The concrete weighs 150 lb/ft3. Fy = 50 ksi.
