The speed of DDR3 starts at 800 MHz and upto 2100 MHz. But the rate of the DDR4 starts with 1600 MHz and upto 3200 MHz. Due to the high speed of DDR4, its overall bandwidth is also high.
The bandwidth provided by DDR4 is 21.3 GB/sec whereas, the bandwidth provided by DDR3 is 12.8 GB/sec. It means the DDR4 performs better than the DDR3.
