4. There is an interference pattern created when a solid-state laster beam at 532 nm shining on a pair of narrow slits is projected onto a wall 4 m from the slits. 4.1) Find the angular width of the central diffraction max in radians if the slits have a width of 30 um. 4.2) Use your answer from 4.1 to find the width of the central diffraction max on the wall in cm
4. There is an interference pattern created when a solid-state laster beam at 532 nm shining on a pair of narrow slits is projected onto a wall 4 m from the slits.
4.1) Find the angular width of the central diffraction max in radians if the slits have a width of 30 um.
4.2) Use your answer from 4.1 to find the width of the central diffraction max on the wall in cm.
4.3) You notice that the 5th intereferece minimum in the pattern on the wall overlaps exactly wiht the 1st diffraction minimum on either side of the pattern's center. Make a drawing that shows such a pattern.
4.4) Use the information from 4.1-4.3 to find the slit separation distance in microns.
4.5) Find the distance from the center of the pattern to the center of the 8th intereference max. Discuss the reltive brightness of this maximum compared to the central interferece maximum and explain your reasoning.
