Objective: Draw the enantiomer and a diastereomer for each compound.
**Compound A:**
- **Structure:** The compound consists of two connected carbon atoms.
- The left carbon atom is bonded to:
- A hydroxymethyl group (HOH₂C)
- A hydrogen atom (H)
- A hydroxyl group (OH)
- The right carbon atom is bonded to:
- A methyl group (CH₃)
- A hydrogen atom (H)
- A hydroxyl group (OH)
- **Visual Representation:**
- Wedges and dashes are used to represent the 3D orientation of the bonds:
- Solid wedge (bold triangle) indicates a bond coming out of the plane towards the viewer.
- Dashed wedge (dotted triangle) indicates a bond going behind the plane away from the viewer.
**Task:**
- Draw the enantiomer:
- Enantiomers are mirror images that are non-superimposable. To draw it, invert the configuration at both chiral centers of the compound.
- Draw a diastereomer:
- Diastereomers are stereoisomers that are not mirror images. Change the configuration at one of the chiral centers only.
