The given system is-

x + ay = 4

ax + 9y = b

(A) When (a,b) = (3,12)

We get the following system-

x + 3y = 4........(1)

3x + 9y = 12........(2)

Dividing  equation (2) by 3 we get-

x + 3y = 4 which is same as the equation (1)

Therefore both the equations are same and hence will give infinite number of solutions

Hence when (a,b) = (3,12) the system give more than one solution.
