Ch 8.3 Practice
Name:
1. Use the t-distribution table to find t* for the following situations
a. 98% confidence interval, n = 22
b. 95% confidence interval, n = 42
2. A random sample of 57 adults passed through a federally funded job training program.
After sixteen weeks, the 57 were found and their current weekly income was recorded. In
the sample, the mean weekly income was $412 with standard deviation $53. Calculate a 98%
confidence interval for the mean wage of all workers who have participated in this
particular training program.
a. Check that the conditions for inference have been met.
