More over 300 species make up the order Primates, making it the third most varied order in the class Mammalia. A short muzzle, a relatively poor ability to smell, prehensile five-digit feet and fingers with flat nails rather than claws, acute vision with visual processing due to forward-facing eye sockets, a huge brain, long - lasting pre- and postnatal advancement, and unspecialized structure are just a few of the characteristics that set primates apart from other mammals. Several species only have one young and group together in male-led units.1. Larger brain: Relative to their body weight, primates have a larger brain than other terrestrial mammals. On either side of the brain, it has a special fissure called the Calcarine sulcus that separates the primary and second visual cortexes. 2. Flat nails: With the exception of primates, who have flat nails, all terrestrial mammals have hooves or claws on their digits. 3.
