a. Find the dimensions of rectangular corral whose perimeter is 260 feet and
with an area of 4000 ft².
b. The screen size of television sets is given in inches, indicating the length
of the diagonal. Modern day TV’s usually have screens with aspect ratio 16:9, that is the ratio of the width to the height. Older TV models often have aspect ratio 4:3. Find the length and width of a 40-inch LED TV that has a screen aspect ratio 16:9.
c. A bus is speeding along a highway when it passed by a patrol motorcycle parked on the left side of the road. The driver immediately decelerates, but the patrol motorcycle accelerates in the same direction to catch up with the bus. The position of the motorcycle upon acceleration is given by d ( t ) = 8t² and the distance travelled by the bus is d ( t ) = -2.4t² + 150t + 300. (Assumed that acceleration is in meters persecond square ). How long will it take the motorcycle to catch up with the bus ?
