HW8 1. Use a 5% level of significance to test the claim that the age distribution of the general Canadian population fits the age distribution of Red Lake Village. Degrees of freedom = 3, P value is .0081, since p value is less we reject the hypothesis so the age distributions of Red Lake Village is different than the General Canadian Population. 2 a. What’s the name of the test? Null hypothesis b. What’s the distribution of the test statistic? What’s its degrees of freedom? Normal distribution Degrees of freedom is 5 c. What’s the null hypothesis? What should we conclude based on the p-value? That there is not a large difference between ranks of male and females. We can conclude that we reject the null hypothesis and there is significant diffreneceds between males and females. d. Can we conclude there is causal relationship between rank and gender in this data set? Yes 3. Perform an appropriate test to see whether the proportion of smokers is the same across all 3 hospitals.
