SAFMEDS: WEEK 3 4 fluency accel with low variability and a steady zero trend in fluency decel with no variability. In addition, when comparing my acquisition accel level to my fluency accel level, from last week to this week, I observe a higher level in acquisition accel and fluency accel this week. On Monday, I took baseline data for the acquisition deck. I did not study any of the cards and took my best score from ran 5 trials. My baseline for acquisition accel and acquisition decel was 2 accel and 1 decel. By the end of this week, I reached an accel of 15 and decel of 0 for my acquisition deck, and an accel of 16 and decel of 0 for fluency. This week’s ending acquisition accel of 15 and decel of 0, is a 650% increase in acquisition accel and a 100% decrease in acquisition decel, from baseline (taken on Monday), to the end of this week. This week’s fluency accel of 16 and fluency decel of 0 is 14.28% above the designated AIM of 14. I recorded my last trial entry on Friday, for both my fluency deck and my acquisition deck. I reached 15 accel and 0 decel for my acquisition deck, which is a 7.14% increase above the designated AIM of 14, by the end of the week. In addition, I reached 16 accel and 0 decel for my fluency deck, which is a 14.28% increase above the original AIM of 14. This week, I have increased my correct responses beyond the designated AIM of 14 accel, within 30 seconds for both my acquisition deck and fluency deck. For fluency, I am maintaining a stable decel of 0, with no variability. In other words, when running trials, I am reaching or surpassing my AIM and I am vocalizing 100% accurate responses and 0% incorrect responses. In addition, I increase my baseline for both my acquisition accel and my fluency accel. STUDY TIME & ADJUSTMENTS: In preparation for trials this week, I studied Fluency Deck D for 40 minutes on Monday – Friday, directly before running trials. In addition, for Acquisition Deck 1, I studied 40 minutes on
SAFMEDS: WEEK 3 5 Tuesday – Friday, directly before running trials. . On Monday, I did not study my acquisition deck and just ran trials for baseline data. My trials consisted of 5 rounds of rapidly vocally tacting SAFMEDS card terms, within 30 minute timed intervals. I studied the fluency decks 5 times this week and the new ABA 626 acquisition deck 4 times this week, directly before running trials. On Monday, I did not study the acquisition deck and just ran trials for baseline data. I used my same implementations from ABA 624, based off the verification of past implementations and the effectiveness in passing my courses, previous increase trends and high test scores. That is, I started by studying my acquisition cards slowly to myself, for memorization, and then moved on to rapid fire testing with vocalization of the answers, in order to emulate how the trials are run. In addition, I implemented my previous implementation of devoting 5-15 minutes to studying decel answers. I also utilized my previous implementations of a secure work station, 2 hours of daycare after work and organization to my study space and materials such as, an ABA 626 folder, printed assignments and notes, organization tabs, drawers for materials and color coding for each new class set of SAFMEDS. I chose pink card stock for ABA 626. For next week, I will implement studying my SAFMEDS in different locations, in order to increase my fluency and acquisition & fluency levels. After I run my last acquisition trial and recorded the best score, I follow-up by running my last fluency trial and recorded my best score out of the day. This week, I observed a slight but dramatic increase trend in acquisition accel and a steady decrease trend in acquisition decel. I, also, observed a steady increase trend in fluency accel and a zero trend in fluency decel. My consistent data, with low variability, relieved all concern, when monitoring my trials during the
SAFMEDS: WEEK 3 6 week. In addition, due to the increase trends in my acquisition accel and fluency accel, I did not find it necessary to implement an intervention throughout the week. This week, I utilized continued to utilize my 2 reinforcement plans. My first reinforcement plan is negative reinforcement, in which, I do not allow myself free time for screen time until my ABA 626 to-do list is complete. I utilized positive reinforcement, with a visual check list, which provided positive reinforcement. Checking off my to-do list for ABA 626, in my ABA 626 folder, increased my accuracy and consistency when completing assignments. In addition, I added new targets to the list, which was to review previous grades, notes and assignments before starting the next. This week, my goal was to reach an AIM of 16 in acquisition accel and an AIM of 18 in fluency accel, within 30 seconds. However, I did not reach my goal for the acquisition deck or the fluency deck. However, I did see dramatic increase trends in both my fluency accel and acquisition accel. Next week, I will increase my study time by an additional 5-10 minutes, in order to increase fluency. I will continue to observe the distractions in my study environment, in order to make implementations, interventions and adjustments. This week I organized my paper resources and study notes. In conclusion, I will continue to study my SAFMEDS cards, add more study time, add more organization to my ABA 626 folder, add more organization to my study location, observe my behavior and study environment, implement stronger reinforcement plans and continue to experiment with different reinforcement plans.
