To provide you with an opportunity to explain how an aspect of children’s learning can be supported through the learning environment and materials, identify how the environment and materials of your current workplace support learning and development and how this might be improved, and summarise and provide examples of how to promote sustained shared thinking
1.
Choose an aspect of children’s learning and explain how you can provide a learning environment and materials to support this.
Answer: Children aspects of learning include social and emotional development, physical development, intellectual development, and spiritual development. Among them I am choosing social and emotional development.
To support children emotional and social development, the learning centre or place should be belonging, welcoming, comfortable, and safe. The environment must be caring, relax and children should consider as a second home. It is educators and centre management responsibility to ensure that children feel secure and belonging in their centre. To ensure such environment, educators or centre management should have the variety of resources which encourage children to work together, directly which will help children on understanding of who they are and how they can contribute to the world. For examples, request children to create group picture, ask them to play together in task, encourage their innovative skills etc.
2.
Think about your current workplace. In what ways do the environment and materials support children’s learning and development? Are there areas that could be improved?
Answer: As answered in previous question, indoor activities as asking children to work together in group task in classroom, encouraging them to be innovative, creative etc support their learning and social development. Outdoor activities as climbing, jumping, running, cycling, digging muds or sand are the materials which support children physical development and learning. Building blocks, toy cars, painting, colouring, with these activities children can engage on touching, smelling, tasting, or listening. Discussing, reading experimenting, constructing etc are the material in the centre helps support the intellectual development of children.
3.
What is shared thinking? Summarise in less than 25 words. Give three examples of the ways that you can promote opportunities for sustained shared thinking.
Answer: Share thinking refers to continually finding a shared interest to explore more which can be either between educators and children or between children. Three examples of the ways that we can promote opportunities for sustained shared thinking are:
Adulting modelling/sharing own experience
Asking open-ended questions
Showing genuine interest.

To provide you with an opportunity to respond to a range of workplace scenarios, identifying how to implement modifications to the learning environment Answer the following questions in reference to your own workplace.
1.
A child that uses a wheelchair will be joining your service. How is the environment already suitable? What modifications will need to be made?
Answer: When children use the wheelchair, that means they need the additional requirement. In this case, looking towards the services, the service centre does have only ground floor which is good to get access to anywhere even for people who use the wheelchair. In the services, there is separate the toilet facilities for those people who need additional support. The tables, in the classroom, kitchen is of the appropriate height which is required that children who use wheelchair. Outdoor game layout will be rearranged so that they can be involved in group while performing task.
But the modification needs to be done in the bookshelves because bookshelves got in high position with variety of book. In this case, assistance will be supplied when needed for those children who need additional needs. In this way, available resources will be accessible by everyone.
2.
A child about to join your service has minor attention issues. In what ways is your environment suitable for them? Are there any modifications that will need to be made?
Answer: That will be the more challenging task if any children in the centre has the attention issues because it is related to the psychological or emotional development. In this case, educator must develop such environment where their good behaviours are getting noticed and made a positive comment of it. Neglect the misbehaviour for children but not the children. Support them and try to encourage them on doing right things rather than scolding, punishing them while they are misbehaving.
3.
One of the children using your service has developed a keen interest in boats. How can you modify your environment to expand on this interest?
Answer: If child in our service has developed a keen interest in boats, then we can modify our resources, materials, and activities accordingly because centre priority is to focus on learning through play. We can introduce various resources relate to boat as constructing boats games, amine videos on boats and its parts, how to ride the boat etc into the centre. And make those resources, material accessible to all the children either interested or not interested. Resources

To provide you with an opportunity to refer to a time when you have collected data on children in your workplace and summarise what you found in terms of the child(ren)’s interests, strengths and goals.
Think about a time when you have collected data on children in your workplace, summarise in 100-150 words what you found in terms of the child(ren)’s interests, strengths and goals.
Answer: During my encounter with children, I remember young girl age around 5 years. I used to interrogate with her, observe her while she was doing activities.
She was very interest on painting and always requested to go outside in playground for painting activities. She had a primary colour with her, and she identified the colours name easily. She even had an idea of making secondary colour from the mixture of primary colours. She used to ask me if in know anything about the primary colour and secondary colour. I used to share the things about paintings to her. She once showed me how to make different secondary colours from primary colour and how can we paint. Apart from that she was interested in the paper craft as well.
She has showed me a lot of her activities and works, and I had praised her for that as well like “keep it up”, “wow, it is so beautiful” etc. Along with that she is
a good storyteller as well. She always used her innovation skills and imagination
power about the places she wants to be and the people she wants around her.
During my observation, I had collected all those strengths of her on painting, knowledge of colours, her interest on painting and crafting.
And we all know every child have their own childish goals. Her goal was to be a great painter and show other that she is outstanding on planting. Adding more, she wants to visit a lot of places in real than in imagination.

To provide you with an opportunity to summarise the learning outcomes, principles and practices of the EYLF, explain how you use these in your workplace and how your learning environment takes these into account and outline the role of an educator
1.
Summarise the learning outcomes, principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework.
Answer: When we look at the Early learning framework of belonging, Being and becoming, there are many descriptions of the learning outcomes, principles, and practice. But here, we are going to summarise all those things in small paragraph.
When it comes to principles, educators must establish the secure, respectful, and reciprocal relationship with the children to support every developmental stage of children or their strong sense of well-being. Every educator or centre must work in collaboration with families, communities, social service to make the inclusive curriculum, welcoming environment, meaningful learning and many more. Childcare centre must be inclusive place where there is respect for diversity, cultures, beliefs. Educator in the centre must believe in continuous learning to build the professional knowledge from experiences, studies, observation, environment etc.
Practices of early year learning framework can be summarised on adopting holistic approaches, being responsive to children, planning and implementing learning through play, intentional teaching, creating physical and social learning environment that have a positive impact on children’s learning, valuing the cultural and social context of children and their families, providing for continuity in experiences and enabling children to have a successful transition and accessing and monitoring children’s learning to inform provision and to support children in achieving learning outcomes.
Moving towards the learning outcomes, we all know that five learning outcomes are children have a strong sense of identity, children relate to and contribute to world, children have a strong sense of wellbeing, children are confident and involved learners, children are effective communicators.
2.
Explain how you have used these learning outcomes, principles and practices to develop objectives within your own workplace. How do you assess the achievement of these objectives?
Answer: With learning outcomes, the principles and practices from early years learning framework, an educator or childcare centre can identify and develop their own specific objectives, learning, roles of educators, type of assessment, procedure to evaluate assessment. In the Early childhood environment, objective can be considered as an achieving reading, writing skills, developing languages and communication, social skills, attention skills, well-being, demonstrating and behaving positive attitudes, knowledge and understanding of the world. Following the principles, practices, these all objectives can be achieved easily.
3.
How does your learning environment take these learning outcomes, principles and practices into account?
Answer: Learning environment is the combination of social and physical qualities either indoor or outdoor that have a potential to influence the children’s achievement. To support the learning environment for children, centre should have CHCECE024 Learner Workbook V1.2

To provide you with an opportunity to access records of assessment and evaluation that have been carried out within your workplace and use these records to suggest areas of improvement for future designs
Access records of assessment and evaluation that have been carried out within your workplace. Your task is to use these records to suggest areas of improvement for future
designs.
Answer: We can always improve our future and design by analysing the current plans. For this we must observe from the evaluation sheets on what is working/ what is not working/ what can be improved? / Anything is overused or overlooked?
With all these, we can make improvement in teaching strategies, types of activities and learning areas.
For examples: Our assessment evaluation might highlight that child are not enjoying learning activities by observing. It can be possible that children are interested on exploring themselves and figuring out for innovative ideas. And we can use that analyse in our future plan where curriculum supports on children’s innovative skills.

2.
Using the website address identified in the previous question, navigate through the National Quality Standard and identify an area which is relevant to this unit. Provide evidence of the area you have chosen, specifying why it is relevant to this unit.
Answer: : The National Quality Standard (NQS) recognises children as competent and capable. In
my Design and implement the curriculum to foster children's learning and development across all seven quality areas of the NQS, with a particular focus in following:
Quality Area 1 – Educational program and practice:
Curriculum decision making contributes to each child’s learning and development outcomes in relation to their identity, connection with community, wellbeing, confidence as learners and effectiveness as communicators.
Quality Area 3 –
Physical Environment: In this unit we read how the environment should
be supporting and encouraging for children to participate on their activities. In the same ways, this unit promoted that all the resources and safe environment must be provide to
children when it comes to learning.
Quality Area 5 – Relationships with children
: While promoting holistic and intentional teaching, educators develop the good relationship with children and consult with them regarding their play, study preferences.
3.
Identify three factors which you take into account when designing programs and environments that foster children’s development.
Answer: Threes factors which I considered when designing programs and environment that foster children development are:
Resources/materials:
While designing the program/activities, firs things come as do we have an enough resource to carried out activities. And the physical environment should be welcoming the children to explore or to participate in activities. In the same way safe physical environment must be provide to the children.
Children strength/ capacity:
Similarly, while implementing the program/activities, we should take children interest, strength/ drawback into consideration. Knowing children strength/interest/ capabilities promote the holistic learning of children.
EYLF:
Apart from this, We must follow the EYLF principles, practices while developing or designing the children programs and activities.
4.
Outline how you evaluate one of the following within your organisation: Answer: The learning environment: To make an evaluation on the learning environment various
methods
can be use:
Open ended questions with children on current curriculum
Monthly group meeting among the children
Observing children interest in current learning environment
Methods used to consult with the families about the curriculum and learning environment are general weekly meetings, sending questionnaires, making phone calls, sending out emails, having suggestion box.
With those methods of finding from both children and parents whether the curriculum is working or not, that children are seems to be happy on doing outdoor games and they have shared the outdoor activity experiences to their parents at home as well. If there
is some weakness which has been CHCECE024 Learner Workbook V1.2

Outline and explain one organisational standard, policy or procedure which you follow within your role relevant to this unit.
Answer: Organizational standards, policy or procedure which follow this units are:
Our guidelines assist our educators to think deeply about the way they implement the approved learning framework in our centres and help them to adopt holistic practices, be responsive to children, and to plan and implement learning through play.
Goodstart is committed to ensuring that all aspects of children’s safety are protected in our early learning settings and must comply with mandatory reporting regulations.
At Goodstart, children are provided with support, guidance, and opportunities to regulate their own behaviour. Where challenging behaviours exist or develop, we promote proactive partnerships with families to positively support children’s behaviour.
We actively encourage families to provide feedback about their experiences with the centre at any time. It is our policy that any problem, issues, or disputes are managed fairly and promptly, and are resolved as close as possible to the source of the problem. Families can raise concerns with one of several contacts, including Goodstart’s Family Support Team, and someone will be assigned to be responsible for dealing with the issue. Families can also be assured that all Goodstart staff respect the privacy of the family when addressing any concern or grievance.
