The impact of technology on our cognitive skills has been a topic of interest for researchers in the cognitive science community. Search engines, in particular, have become an essential tool in our daily lives, allowing us to access vast amounts of information at our fingertips. The research article titled "The Influence of Search Engines on Cognitive Processes: A Systematic Review" by Smith, Johnson, and Brown (2019) explores the effects of using search engines on various aspects of cognition. The authors of this systematic review conducted a thorough analysis of previous studies that investigated the influence of search engines on cognitive processes. They found that using search engines can positively impact cognitive abilities such as information retrieval, problem- solving, and decision-making. Search engines allow individuals to quickly find and access information, thereby reducing the cognitive load associated with memorization and recall.
