PSY 211 Module One Milestone Template In the Module One Milestone Guidelines and Rubric, review the Overview and Prompt sections. Then answer each of the following questions with a minimum of 3 to 5 sentences. Support your answers with credible sources when appropriate. Complete this template by replacing the bracketed text with the relevant information.  Compare the psychological factors that have influenced both April and Judi’s development. o Consider their cognitive and affective factors in your response. The two sisters had 2 completely different upbring and it was that that shaped them into who they were. One sister Jan had had a loving family with a healthy upbring, her parents has supported her, believed in her, had been involved in life to help her excel. However, Judi had been raised in a home where she saw her father abuse alcohol and abuse her mother. Since he hadn’t had the support that she needed she never reached her full potential was faced with all the opposite situation of a healthy up bringing and that unfortunately resulted in her going down her own dark path with alcohol and drugs.  Compare the social factors that have influenced both April and Judi’s development. o The social aspects that effected their development in very different way as for Jan it was full of support and motivation and help. Judi’s relationship with her parents was full of dysfunctions behavior and all types of abuse. This came affect them in other areas of live later as one of sister became a super successful lawyer, had 2 kids with her childhood sweetheart. While the other barely made I passed high school, suffered from multiple mental health issues and losing one 1 kid to addiction.  Explain whether nature or nurture had a more significant role in April and Judi’s development. Support your answers with examples from the scenario. o Consider using biological, psychological, and social factors in your response. [consider their relational and environmental factors in your response. Nurture has played the most important role in the developmental of both girls. They were sisters and twins meaning they were both born with the same amount of potential. However, as they both brought up in a different kind of environment; one was full of love and support and other was full alcohol and abuse. That impacted their development, and it was the nurturing of them that resulted in turning out so different Judi even mirrored some of the same behaviors that she grew up and they were magnified in as the years passed.  Explain why it is important to consider nature and nurture in combination throughout the life span when evaluating an individual’s well-being. The balance between both nature and nurture is extremely important as they both play a part of person life. Nurture is the things that influences us from our environment while nature is what is written in our DNA and is things that influence out genetic makeup. In the case of the story about the two sisters since they both had the same DNA and were twins it’s hard to argue that nature had big part in their outcome. It’s much easier to argue that it was nurture that played the biggest impact in their lives and the kinds of women that they turned out to be. 1
